How to Preserve the Art
-
Display in Indirect Light
Exposure to direct sunlight causes color pigments to fade and for the natural materials to degrade and become brittle.
-
Monitor Temperature and Humidity
Do not store in a high humidity environment it can cause the specimens to mold. Keep in a dry environment and try to avoid extreme temperatures particularly heat.
-
Keep Pests Away
Specimens kept in the dark, such as in closets, drawers or storage boxes will soon be devoured by book lice or carpet beetle larvae unless protected. Even sealed displays can be prone to infestations so chemical protection such as moth balls are effective.
